Sometimes, when I make Pineapple Buttermilk smoothie, I throw in 2-3 strawberries or few blueberries (if I have them) to add more flavour. Also, I noticed that smoothie taste better when I use a really fresh, local buttermilk. I keep bags of frozen pineapples and bananas in my freezer at all times for smoothies. I use small freezer bags to make it easy to use when needed and to save time. Plus, when you make smoothies in the summer, you don’t need to use ice cubes to have them cold (and I like to keep my drinks creamy).
Ingredients:
- 2 cups pineapple chunks (can be frozen)
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 2 scoops vanilla flavoured protein powder
It is always a good idea to add liquid first, so put the buttermilk, frozen pineapple, honey, vanilla extract and protein powder into the blender. Mix until everything has an even, smooth consistency. Pour into the glass and enjoy.

Honey is an excellent natural sweetener that also functions as an anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and antioxidant agent.
