Blender Review

I’ve been living in the same house for over 20 years. Most of my neighbours have been here as long as me. It is a nice, quiet, “mature” street where everybody knows each other. We all meet quite often and it doesn’t have to be special occasion like a birthday or anniversary. We just like each other’s company.

In one of those gatherings I mentioned a new smoothie recipe and it turned out that most of my neighbours are into healthy foods and drinks now ….. who knew? But, what surprised me is that everyone of us use different blenders and juicers to make our drinks. Some of my neighbours love their machines, same hates them with passion. As we compared different makes and models, I started to wonder “what are the best blenders out there?” What would I buy, if I was on the market to purchase a new one? I did a little digging and here is the list of the top best blender I would consider buying today:

Vitamix – I’ve been using it for over 20 years, at least 4-5 times a week and it still works like new. I love it so much, I bought one for almost everyone in my family. No wonder over 95% of restaurants and bars in North America (as seen on Food Network) uses them. The blender is incredible powerful and durable, easy to use, super easy to clean (it practically cleans itself by blending soapy water) and comes with the tamper, which is very useful. The Vitamix is not the cheapest blender on the market but it’s well worth it. I guess you get what you pay for.

Cuisinart Hurricane Pro 3.5 Peak Blender – very popular and highly regarded. I’ve seen it in one of my friend’s house and I liked how quiet it was. What amazing, this blender comes with memory function that lets you adjust preset times, then remembers the new settings. It has LCD display with programmable countdown timer so you can customize blend times. Cuisinart Hurricane model offers variable speed control and extra-large, 64-ounce, BPA-free plastic jar with soft-grip handle. To be honest, I’m not big fan of electronic touchpads in general but that’s just me.

Ninja Professional Blender 1000 – my neighbour Steve bought it last year on sale before Christmas. He doesn’t use his blender as much as I do but he likes it a lot. It’s really well made, 1000-watts motor delivers a lot of blending power and it has a big, 64-ounce capacity for large servings. The six blades give you a smoother and faster blend. All attachments are BPA free and dishwasher safe, so it’s easy to clean. It also has a safety feature that keeps the blades from spinning unless the lid is secured (great if you have kids). Overall, it is a good blender at a very affordable price.

KitchenAid K400 – the name you can trust. It looks and feels impressively well-built. It has 3 preset recipe programs: ice crush, icy drinks & smoothie and 5-speed variable speed dial to control the taste and texture to fit your personal preference. The Soft Start feature starts the motor at a slower speed to pull food into the blade, then quickly increases to the selected speed setting to avoid splatter. It also features Intelli-Speed Motor Control, which senses contents and maintains the optimal speed to power through all ingredients. Comes with 48 oz glass jar.

Breville the Q – one of my friends just bought one and I am very impressed with this blender. It comes with an ultra-powerful 1800 Watt motor. There are 4 One Touch buttons (Smoothie, Green Smoothie, Soup and Auto Pulse for ice crush) and 5 speed settings (Mix, Chop, Blend, Puree and Mill) to optimize time/speeds to produce the tastiest results. Great to create natural nut butters, nut & bean milks, fresh cocktails, creamy dips and sauces. It has Auto clean function to clean the jug and blades. The 68 oz BPA free jug is shatter resistant and dishwasher safe.
